Version 4.1 compared to version 4.0:
- Two new elements are added to the questionnaire definition; Gosub and Return. Using a Gosub instruction one can jump (like a Skip) to a Gosub address (number/label); after encountering a Return one is being returned to the line after the (last) Gosub instruction.
- Ranges can also include Gosubs and/or other Ranges. Using this makes it very easy to randomize irregular blocks of questions with skips or other ranges included.
- Relative skip addresses, skips can also point to relative addresses (e.g. + 2 or -4 lines in the overview.
- The history of variables is being kept. Going backwards in the questionnaire changes the variables to its original value.
- New module IT Translate: Text sets can be exported and sent to a translator. Translators can translate the text set using the unprotected program IT Translate. The translated text set can afterwards be imported into the questionnaire.
- Importing external questionnaires: After marking the question and answer categories using a word processor or the advanced IT user interface external questionnaires (txt files) can be easily imported and transferred to IT files.
- Importing external data in the current survey: External comma delimited data (from handhelds) can be imported in the current survey.
- The definition and lay out of the IT Web pages is totally integrated in IT Manager. This is only available if the optional IT Web module is installed.
- A new option is an IT Agent running on handhelds in a Pocket PC environment. The handheld script in being generated using the utility Survey to Script.
- The spelling of the questionnaire, data and open ends can be easily check using the MS Word connected spelling checker using the check spelling button or use F7(cell), shift F7(all cases) and ctrl F7(cursor down) to check string and open end data from the data window.
- The Merge function has a new user interface with many handy features.
- With the new Join function questionnaires can be linked using key(s).
- With new utility Active Surveys one can check out which surveys are being used one way or another (IT Manager, IT Agent and IT Coder).
- Triple-S export.

- The data can be easily copied to the clipboard.
- Data can be written case log files ( writes data for every contact try), see Caselogging and Gap files (ascii files for restoring data).
- And many more small enhancements and bug fixes.

Version 4.0 compared to version 3.1:
- Working with different languages with Textsets Defining textsets, textsets at questionlevel.
- Two new languages in the translations files (French and German).
- Recording sounds Recording the compleet interview, Recording a question, playing the recorded sounds, merging the recorded sounds .
- Format questions text, see Formating question text.
- Configure IT Agent central, see IT Agent configuration.
- Log file, by pressing Log file from the toolbar or running the 'survey history' entry from the design menu a listing is being displayed with the dates, times, names and IT-versions used when editing the current questionnaire.
- Assign a base to each question. The base is optionally being printed with the reports. With the base one can give a discription of the population answering the question. The base can be defined in a new tabsheet that is being added to the question definition menu, extra.
- Define groups of questions and assign questions to these groups.
- For these groups of questions one can set statistics or tests which are being calculated when running frequencies and crosstabs. Each question can be assigned to a certain group using the group entry on the question (F1) tab. In frequencies and crosstabs one can toggle between groupsettings or default statistics/tests.
- Disable the previous question button for a certain questionnaire. Using the missing tab sheet in the survey setting menu (design) one can disable the previous question button in a questionnaire.
- All the output (exports and reports) can be password protected using the data-export/report password entry in the general tab of survey settings (design).
- In a multi response precoded question assign more then one categorie as single.
- Defining a prefix or suffix string which is being displayed before or after the answer in IT-Agent e.g. %. The prefix/suffix can be defined in a new tabsheet that is being added to the questiontab, extra.
- Sorting on description or count in frequencies. Using the settingstab one can decide the order in which the categories of precoded questions are being printed.
- Grafics in reports. Using frequencies the results can also be presented using bar and pie graphs.
- Defining multiple missing values in reports. Using the categories (F3) tab with precoded questions multiple categories can be assigned missing. Assigning them missing means of course that these values are being discarded in the calculations for the statistics and tests in frequencies and crosstabs.
- A new interface for sample input see matching samples.
- Monitoring several surveys in IT Agent. IT-Agent has an extra entry in the file menu, surveys to monitor. With this entry one choose predispositions (firm-, soft appointment and busy/no answers of surveys which are going to monitored for valid cases in between cases of the current questionnaire, see Surveys to monitor.

- Export to tab-delimited file. An extra option when running exports is tab-delimited files. In the file the codes or categories of precoded questions can be displayed and also the answers to the open ends.

Version 3.1 compared to version 3.0.1:
- All output is generated from XML and XSLT stylesheet. The stylesheets can be directly and indirectly adapted to ones personal preferences.
- Merge and add questionaires and data. A special merge version have been developed to combine questionaires, samples and data. Checks are included on questiontext and datatypes, answercategories.
- Functions can be nested
- My collection library functions are available for almost all the objects in the program
- Administrative tools for My collection and Other collection library function are provided
- Translations can also be made using the sample as the basis.
- Frequencies can be also be run based on the sample.
- Extended and context sensitive help functions.
- IT Agent has been completly renewed using a very easy userinterface.
- Support of pan-european charactersets.
- Several smart short cuts are availabel
- Several small improvements, bug fixes.
The advantages of Windows IT with regard to MS DOS IT:
- Extended authorisation functionality. Authorisation can be specified per user or user group down to element level.
- A complete search and replace function. In a search instruction it is also possible to use restrictions, e.g. to search only in question numbers, question labels, variables or a certain type of texts (like question texts, answer categories, restriction texts, confirmation texts or any combination of these).
- Graphic environment. The overview of the questionnaire can be specified per user per element on colour, font, size and attributes. The user can specify what elements should be shown in the overview, like line numbers, question numbers, question labels, question text and size/type of answer categories. Moreover, one can easily see which skip refers to which label or question through an arrow or a keyboard shortcut. One, several or all lines can be marked.
- Using several questionnaires beside each other.
- Extended cut, copy and paste functions. It is possible to copy and paste elements within a questionnaire, between questionnaire(s) or from other Windows programs. Besides, skips or variables are automatically renumbered when pasting.
- Simplified input possibilities. The user can specify which element is entered first (question text, categories, answer characteristics, restriction, confirmation or media). Answer characheristics are automatically adjusted when changing answer categories. Besides, for every element in the questionnaire (questions, skips, variables, ranges etc.) one can choose normal input or bulk input.
- Integrated modules. Because the modules Vmaker, Utilities, Supervisor and Tables are now integrated in IT Manager, one can for example access inputted data or show a tabulation at any time. To do so, it is no longer necessary to leave a module or menu.
- Extended library. At any time users can pick up sets of categories, selections, settings etc. from their own or other users’ collections or add to these.
- Overview of the response records. With one keystroke you can get an overview of the status of the response records.
- Extended reports. All reports, like counts and tabulations, are formatted to HTML using stylesheets. Therefore reports can be read by Office 2000 and adjusted to the needs of the user. It is also possible to use for example Word applications.
- Customised for the web version it is possible to show ranges in a grid format.
- To the needs of every user: the possibility to use buttons, keyboard shortcuts or menus.
- A further extended help function.
- Variable transformation. Re-coding or calculating variables does not require new questions any more.
- In the overview of the questionnaire it is possible to test one, several or all questions after each other.
- Language options.
