Interview Technology
Interview Technology provides software solutions for survey-research data collection and analysis. Interview Technology is part of the DESAN Research & Development group. The main activity of DESAN is data collection via mail, telephone, face-to-face and internet surveys.

DESAN
In 1986, the year DESAN was founded most of the software for computer assisted interviewing was running on minicomputers and required a large staff of highly specialized software programmers to do the job. At the same time PC's were becoming more powerful and reliable network software became available.
Dissatisfied with the existing CAI packages running on PC's the experts at DESAN decided to start developing a new CAI software package running on a MS Dos platform. In the beginning the main goal was simply to design a CAI system with a user interface fine-tuned to the researchers mind. The software was named IT and was primarily developed for internal use to make the data-collection process easier.

1989
Very soon the clients of DESAN got interested in the product and the first version was sold in 1989 to a large data-collection institute in the Netherlands. Until now about 120 companies chose IT as the main product for data collection recognizing the advantage of using a product designed by researchers.
Nowadays IT runs on a Windows and a browser based platform.

Independent
Because of the rapidly growing number of users of IT in 2000 the decision was made to change the software department of DESAN into an independent operating business unit named Interview Technology. Although independent, Interview Technology still has the unique advantage of testing new software applications extensively at DESAN's data-collection department before it is being distributed.
Interview Technology is headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
